Good morning everyone!

We have exciting news!

We have not been in touch for a while, but June is shaping up to be a very exciting month! We are coming back with a number of great events!

In April, we went to the premiere of the exclusive screening of Half of a Yellow Sun, the film adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novel of the same name. We also attended an exhibition on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Genocide in Rwanda called Rwanda in Photographs: Death Then, Life Now. The event brought together the work of a number of Rwandan photographers, and it was refreshing to hear both Nigerian and Rwandan stories from perspectives other than the mainstream media. It is only by telling our stories that we can challenge entrenched stereotypes in order to shed light and understanding on our complexities.

Both of these events were very powerful, and we hope you will enjoy these two next events just as much.

17 June 2014 | 7pm | Dada Masilo's Swan Lake
We are very excited about this show! South African Dada Masilo re-interprets Tchaikovsky’s classic Swan Lake. It is sure to be a refreshing, quirky piece that offers an exploration of queer identity in South African society. There will also be a post-show talk following the performance. Regardless of whether or not you are a fan of ballet or 'classical' art, this production is going to be worth seeing.
